On June 22, 2022, the members-only event “Uncovering the XR Underlying Supply Chain Seminar Series of Optical Materials” sharing session held by Gyrotech was successfully concluded. Yue Chen, the founder and CEO of BearSunny Technology, was invited to participate and share. 　　During the sharing session, Chen Yeyue brought "Free Control of Light Transmission of AR Glasses - Current Situation and Trends of Electrochromic Technology", which explained the technical path of electrochromic materials, technical difficulties, current situation of the industry and future applications in all aspects.

　　In AR glasses, electrochromic materials rely on digital control of light transmission to change the degree of transparency of the lens, so as to improve the effective brightness of light and achieve dynamic adjustment of balance, and thus achieve “ virtual and real light consistent ” which will enable AR optics to break through the outdoor limitations and achieve more application scenarios in the future.

　　At present, the electrochromic material of BearSunny Technology can achieve 10% - 80% transparency adjustment, and can replace the outermost glass cover layer of the waveguide sheet when combined with the waveguide sheet, and only increase the thickness of 0.3mm and the weight of 1.5g for a single eye, which means the color-changing material can be replaced to form a complete module solution. In addition, BearSunny Technology has obtained more than 40 patents and is cooperating with UC Berkeley on research and development topics, and also has a number of joint R&D projects with Samsung Electronics in Korea and Meta in the US. In addition to the AR industry, electrochromic also has a wide range of applications in the aviation field, construction field, automotive field, etc.
